Summary : On August 12, 2019, the Douglas County School District (DCSD) Construction department and NV5 advertised a Request for Proposal (RFP) for architectural firms qualified by the District for facility modifications to support Career and Technical Education (CTE) at DCSD high schools as part of the 2018 Bond program. Twenty-three (23) firms were invited to submit on the RFP. Five (5) firms submitted proposals.

The Construction department in conjunction with NV5 and District educational staff reviewed submittals. Two (2) firms were shortlisted and were invited to interview:
1. CRP Architects
2. DLR Group.

On October 11, 2019, interviews were held. The interview panel consisted of the District’s Director of Construction, Director of Choice Programming, CTE Education Coordinator, and NV5. Firms were evaluated on qualifications specific to the project, recent similar experience of the proposed architectural and engineering team, staffing plan and organization structure, and communication plan.

The interview panel selected DLR Group for this project.

The facility modifications to support Career and Technical Education at DCSD high schools are included in the 2018 Bond. An architectural firm is needed to design and manage this project.

An Architect Agreement was issued to DLR Group for $1,624,490 (10.83% of total project costs).

2018 Bond funds will pay for this award and are included in the bond planning budgets. The proposed fee is within industry standards for this work.
