Summary : At the October 18, 2016 Board of Education meeting, the Board of Education approved eDCSD's request of CDE to move from school status to program status. After significant negotiations, CDE accepted the recommendations to allow for program status at the elementary and middle level, also to allow for a base-level program status at the high school level for at-risk students struggling to graduate on-time. However, CDE countered that eDCSD must maintain school status at the high school level (if approved by the Board of Education, this school will be known as eDCSD Summit) for students accessing eDCSD that do not qualify for the base program. eDCSD will also be transitioning from a multi-district online educational provider to a single district online educational provider. The programs will no longer be subject to the school performance frameworks as the students served in these programs will maintain their status with their respective schools. The eDCSD Summit school will be subject to the accountability clock and the school performance frameworks.
